Alli was born in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, to a Yoruba Nigerian father, Kehinde, and an English mother, Denise. A week after Ali’s birth, Kehinde left for the United States. Alli was primarily raised by his mother, who suffered from alcohol problems. Dele Alli Professional career

Dele joined the youth system at Milton Keynes Dons aged 11 after playing for City Colts. He made his first team debut on 2 November 2012 as a sixteen-year-old. His first touch in professional football was a back-heel pass. His first goal came in a replay against Cambridge, where he scored on his first start in a 6–1 win at Stadium MK. Made his league debut on 29 December in a 2–3 home defeat to Coventry City.

On 28 September, Alli scored his first professional league goal in a 4–1 win over Stevenage. After an injury setback in late 2013, Ali became the first-choice player in 2014.

On 2 February 2015, Alli signed a five-and-a-half-year contract for Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur in the final hour of the mid-season transfer window for an initial fee of £5 million.

On 13 April, he was named in the six-man shortlist for the 2015–16 PFA Young Player of the Year.

He failed to make an impact at Everton, making 11 appearances and only one start in the 2021–22 season and two more in the 2022–23 season. He did not score or register an assist in 13 games.

On 25 August 2022, Ali joined Turkish side Besiktas on loan for the remainder of the 2022–23 season, with an option to buy for the Turkish club.
