Salah started playing for local side Ittihad Basioun and Othmason Tanta’s youth setup. He names Ronaldo, Zinedine Zidane and Francesco Totti as his childhood idols. In 2006, he joined Al Mokaolun’s youth team at 14. Salah made his senior team debut in the Egyptian Premier League.
