Brooks is the son of Denise Jakows and Bob Koepka. He has a younger brother, Chase Koepka, a professional golfer playing on the European tour; The two brothers played as partners in the New Orleans Zurich Classic 2019 on the PGA Tour, the only tour event using a team format. His father was a college baseball player from Wesleyan, West Virginia, who later learned golf and passed it on to his sons. His great uncle, Dick Groot, is a major league baseball player.

At the 2015 Masters, he met his fiance Jenna Sims. Sims is an actress who has acted in movies like Last Vegas and American Beach House. She is also a former Miss Teen USA winner.

Brooks Koepka played college golf at Florida State University in Tallahassee, winning three events and being a three-time All-American. He qualified for the 2012 US Open as an amateur.


In 2012, Koepka became a professional and began playing on the Challenge Tour in Europe. He won his first title at the Challenge de Catalunya in September.

In 2013, it was his second win on the Challenge Tour, winning the 2013 Montecia Golf Open.

He won the Scottish Hydro Challenge for the third time this year. The day after winning his third Challenge Tour in 2013, Koepka qualified for the 2013 Open Championship. Koepka debuted as a member of the European Tour.

The U.S. At the Open, Koepka finished fourth, earning his first PGA Tour card for the 2014-15 season and his first Masters invitation. He was 15th at the PGA Championships and nominated for the PGA Tour Rookie of the Year award.

Koepka won the Turkish Airlines Open on the 2014 European tour and finished third in the Dubai Desert Classic and Omega European Masters. He was ranked 8th in the 2014 Race to Dubai rankings and was named Sir Henry Cotton Rookie of the Year on the European Tour.

Koepka won his first PGA Tour event on February 1, 2015. At the 2015 Open Championships, Koepka continued to improve every day. In 2015, he decided to give up his European Tour membership.


In November 2016, Koepka won the Dunlop Phoenix Tournament in Japan.

In 2017, Koepka won his first major championship, claiming the U.S. Open title at Erin Hills, Wisconsin.

After the 2017 season, Koepka had to undergo wrist surgery and hoped in time, but he had to withdraw, saying he was only 80% fit. At Bellerive Country Club, he won his third major at the 2018 PGA Championship. Koepka won the C.J. Cup on October 21, 2018, which took him to number one in the official world golf rankings.

Koepka won the 2019 PGA Championship on May 19, 2019. Koepka won the WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational on July 28, 2019. He won $1,745,000, the season-long Wyndham Rewards Top 10 Challenge, and an additional $2,000,000.

Koepka has won the PGA Player of the Year award for the second time.

Koepka qualified for the 2019 Presidents Cup but withdrew due to a knee injury.


Koepka won the Waste Management Phoenix Open at TPC Scottsdale, Arizona, in February 2021. On March 16, 2021, Koepka underwent knee surgery. Koepka played for the U.S. team in the 2021 Ryder Cup at Kohler’s Whistling Strait in Wisconsin.

By June 2022, Koepka has decided to end his PGA Tour career to play LIV golf.
